"Since I'm a lawyer several people have asked me whom I support for Alachua County Court Judge in Group 2. I'm supporting Denise Ferrero.

Judge, is a hard office to run for because ethics rules preclude the candidates from speaking about substantive issues; so it's clear they have not prejudged any decision that might come before them.

But, I can say when I was practicing, as a criminal defense attorney Denise was a prosecutor, and she was a very good one. She worked hard and if she told you something you could rely on it being true. I found she made decisions based on facts and not politics.

She has both criminal & civil experience. She has been a hearing officer in traffic court so she has experience that is very similar to that of a judge's. She was President of our local Bar Association. She's been involved with Jr. League, Guardian Ad Litems, and worked for victims’ rights.
